High School Counselor
My first experience teaching in a classroom was at Huntsville Middle School as an intern. I was completely charmed by the experience and the level of professionalism presented by this school. I have been with the Huntsville School District for 8 years and I have loved every minute of it!
I graduated from college with B.A. in Psychology with the thought that I would become a school counselor, but life had other plans. I have always been in love with the arts and I was lucky enough to follow that dream straight out of college when I began work as a jeweler's apprentice. I worked as a jeweler for seven years, finishing my career as a certified Senior Bench Jeweler, before returning to college.
I love the arts, and the English language is full of artistic opportunities. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Master of Arts in Teaching to follow my next great adventure as an English teacher. I began my teaching career in Bentonville working at Washington Junior High School and teaching Intermediate Writing at Northwest Arkansas Community College. When I had the opportunity to return to Huntsville, I jumped at the opportunity. I feel very lucky to be apart of this community and finally coming full circle to fulfill a career in counseling after completing a Mater of Education in School Counseling and Leadership. This school term begins my third year as a Huntsville High School Counselor and a proud Eagle!
I live in Fayetteville with my wonderful husband and two incredibly adorable beagles named Astro and Winnie.
This summer I had the privilege to present at the ADE Summit, and I am also a board member at large for the Arkansas Association of Supervision and Curriculum Developoment.
