I graduated from Springdale High School in 1990. I then obtained my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR, in 1994. In 1996, I received an Associate of Arts degree from Messenger College.
Initially, I became Arkansas certified to teach 5th-12th grade Math and Social Studies. Later, I added 7th-12th grade Literacy, and Earth & Physical Sciences. In 2004-05, I attended graduate school, earning fifteen hours toward a Master’s degree. I took the PLT and gained a k-12 ESL endorsement.
I have attended on-going trainings, workshops, and conferences. Some of them include extensive training in CGI, MDC, CIV, project-based learning, and technology driven mathematics. I also helped with curriciulum development for the NWAR area in designing engaging lessons with teachers on special assignment.
I was excited four years ago when an opportunity became available for me to teach for the Huntsville School district. I live in this district and am grateful to serve the students of our community. This is my 6th year within the district, and I currently teach Algebra 1, Algebra II and Geometry.
I started teaching in 1994 for Springdale Public Schools. I taught there for 21 years. I held positions at the JO Kelly Middle School, the High School ALE, and the Springdale High School.
I am single and do not have any children.
I enjoy working in the gardens and landscaping. I am a avid lover of music and singing. I have been playing the piano many years, starting lessons at age 7. I travel quite a bit, usually for Church and ministry related events. Also, I enjoy gardening (vegetables, herbs, flowers), and I love nature (especially animals).
