Teacher: Jo Lynne Nelson
I graduated from Huntsville High School in 1976 and I graduated with a BSE from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1985 with a double major in Secondary mathematics and biological sciences.
I have a BSE in mathematics and biological science at the secondary level.
I have attended 2 years of Laying the Foundation for Mathematics and 3 years in the Math Master Teacher program at the University of Arkansas.
I started teaching at Huntsville in 1998. I taught math at the high school and science at the middle school. I have taught in Huntsville for 21 years.
I currently teach algebra 1, algebra 2 and ACT prep.
I started teaching in 1985 at Rogers High School. I then taught 1 year in Harrison. I taught 8 years in Farmington and have taught in Huntsville for the past 21 years. I have taught at the Middle school and at the High school teaching math and science
I married Mark Nelson in June of 1990 so we have been married for 29 years. We have 2 sons, Weston and Zachary. Weston graduated in 2010 and Zachary graduated in 2015 both from Huntsville High school.
We have 2 pets- a golden retriever named Odie and a Siamese cat named Lucy.
I love working in my gardens, swimming in my pool and going for walks on the golf course. I love watching Razorback football, basketball and baseball.
I dream of moving to the beach when we retire because the beach is my happy place. I collect lighthouses and beach decor. I enjoy reading and siting on my front porch. Go Hogs!
