I graduated from McRae High School in McRae, Arkansas in 1993. After that, I attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. In 1993 I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and mathematics and hold current Arkansas teaching licenses for both math and physical education. I was a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society and voted Harding’s first Kinesiology Student of the Year in 1993 by the kinesiology faculty. During my time there I was a varsity athlete in cross country, indoor track, & outdoor track with All-AIC conference honors.
I have participated in professional development including: Solution Tree PLC Summit national conference in Arizona, various breakout sessions on formative assessments and RTI, NCTM workshops, 3 years of Laying the Foundation workshops through AR AIMS/NMSI, and 4 years of College Ready Math Master Teacher/Quantitative Literacy workshops at the University of Arkansas.

In 2003, I transferred to the middle and high schools. During this time period I taught PE to 7th and 8th graders for half a day and then traveled to High School to teach math for the afternoon. In 2005, I moved to the high school full time I have taught the following classes at Huntsville High School: Algebra A, Algebra B, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-AP Algebra 2, Geometry, Honors Geometry, Precalculus with Trigonometry, and Kinesiology. I also traveled to Middle School to teach 8th grade Algebra 1. I am a Math Master Teacher as determined by College Ready (in conjunction with the University of Arkansas). I was Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsor for several years.
I have coached two years of girls’ high school soccer (2003-2004 seasons), three seasons of junior high and senior high boys’ and girls’ track & field (2006, 2007, and 2018), and thirteen seasons of junior high and senior high boys’ & girls’ cross country (2006-present), with one state championship and numerous conference championships. I have also worked many years with academic teams like Quiz Bowl, which won state championships in 2017/2018. I am officially retired from coaching now, but still very much involved!
This year, I am going to be teaching AP Prep Algebra 2, Trig/Pre-Calculus, and Kinesiology.
My husband, Mike, and I are very active in our church. I love to travel, see new places, and meet new people. We have always been involved in sports: whether it be St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Arkansas Razorbacks (football, basketball, baseball, track, or XC), or watching our kids play basketball, baseball, golf, track, & XC. We also love the outdoors. I personally love to hike, sew, cook, garden, do small home improvement projects – most of which take place in the summer! Last, but definitely not least, I consider my 27 year marriage to the love of my life & my two beautiful, talented children to be my greatest achievement in life.
